I read No One Is Talking About This by Patricia Lockwood on

Review

This is a beautiful book that was a little hard to read. March was a pretty light reading month for me, only finishing this one and a few smaller books I didn’t care to review.

It’s really well-written, just like Priestdaddy (though it starts much more lyrical and ends much more sentimental), and Lockwood is able to talk about being Extremely Online in a way that’s obviously authentic. That’s one of those things that you can’t fake.

But, as I said, a hard read. Quarantine has drastically reduced my capacity to absorb sad things, like dramas on TV or sad news. And the particular thing that makes this book sad (no spoilers) is something I’ve been a few steps away from many times and always averted my eyes, but this, obviously, makes you look. And I’m glad I did, as hard as it was to do so.
