I read Israel - a concise history of a nation reborn by Daniel Gordis on

Review

I read this as a follow-up to the Politics of Anti-Semitism. I’ll keep this review brief: I’m happy to discuss it more in person. This was an interesting read, but I would not recommend or describe it as an objective history, nor a complete story. It has a few factual stretches, and countless omissions: Arabs are rarely quoted, their intentions and history glossed-over. As Gordis states in the introduction, this is his narrative of one nation’s rise, and that’s the through-line.
